Dear Friends,

Firstly a big thank you to all those who attended the July dinner, hosted for the first time at The Ivy.

I hope you enjoyed a stimulating and fun evening in the company of some rugby legends. Once again, a big thank you to Mark Middlemas for facilitating the panel and to John Judge for introducing Mick Cleary our host for the evening.

As well as trialing a new venue, we also relaxed the dress code accordingly.
The feedback from those in attendance was overwhelmingly positive and we
will continue to evolve the dinners in line with our speakers and attendance
levels moving forward.

Hopefully you will have seen the email last week from our Christmas committee. We wanted to give you as much notice as possible, please do book early to secure your tables!

Our next dinner will be on September 24th September at The Shooting Room, Haymarket Hotel, at 6:30 for 7pm Dinner. We will hear from a panel of media entrepreneurs sharing their stories of life (the ups and downs) outside the corporate world (An official invite will follow with details of the panel in the next few days).

This will be followed by the final dinner of the year on 31st October 2019. We have secured Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York as our guest speaker at The Private Room–Balthazar

You can book your places now for both dinners via our new Eventbrite link.

A final request from me is regarding membership; The Solus Club is very special and holds a special place in many peoples heart. However in these times of change, just like everything, it needs to evolve to be as relevant for the future as it has been in the past. I am confident we can do this and still deliver on its core promise – to bring people together in the advertising world.

I would like this club to be something people want to be part of and I will try my best to help do that and I hope you will help me too. New members are key to our future success and I think we all know someone who would be a great addition and benefit from The Club.

Being an old fashioned salesperson, I think it’s always good to set a target and as President of the Solus Club, I want to set us a bold target for 2020 – to hit 200 members. As well as a drive led by our Membership secretary and our committee, we have also simplified the process by putting the application form on our new website which you can share with any friends or colleagues as a Solus Club member and sponsor.

We will discuss more at the AGM (which will take place before the September dinner) and I look forward to seeing you next month!

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Best wishes,
